Detailed information (read before applying):
The Q Grader Arabica credential, awarded to individuals who pass a series of exams involving coffee grading, scoring, and sensory analysis, is among the most prestigious and respected such credentials in the global coffee industry. Individuals who are Q Graders often include that credential on their business cards and/or email signatures. Being a Q Grader is an opportunity and privilege that is of immense value for a coffee professional, but which also costs a significant sum of money in course fees, often travel and lodging costs, as well as the 6 days of time away from daily work required.
As we at Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters are committed to providing opportunities for people whenever possible, we will be offering a scholarship for one (1) specialty coffee professional to take each of the Q Grader Arabica Course & Exams taught by Trish Rothgeb at locations and times to be scheduled and published on http://www.wreckingballcoffee.com/pages/training-education. The scholarship will be awarded to one individual for each scheduled course as selected at the sole discretion of Trish Rothgeb, based on applications submitted by candidates during the application period as posted on Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters’ social media or on the wreckingballcoffee.com website. Applications are welcome from all, and the selection of the scholarship recipient will be notified directly by telephone or email. Applications will be accepted via email only at: email@example.com.
The scholarship is for the Q Arabica Combo Training and Exam Course fees (currently $2000USD) and is for registration of the applicant only and includes the six days of training and testing, and lunch each day. The scholarship is absolutely not transferrable and has no monetary value. A scheduled course may be cancelled at any time by the instructor. The scholarship is for the specific course that occurs on the specific dates that correspond with the published application period and for no other course. A scholarship recipient may not transfer their scholarship to another course on another date. The scholarship does not include any travel, lodging, or any other costs whatsoever incurred by the scholarship recipient or any other related company or individual. The scholarship and course provides an opportunity to take the course and exams and no guarantee or warranty that the scholarship recipient will pass the exams is expressed or implied. The scholarship does not include any costs related to exam retakes, calibrations or recertifications after the dates of the specific relevant course. This scholarship program will end at any time at the sole discretion of Trish Rothgeb and Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters, LLC.
By applying for this scholarship, applicants, if selected to be scholarship recipients, agree to allow Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters, LLC and the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) to include the recipients’ name and likeness in marketing, social media, and advertising materials in photographs, videos, and written materials. No offer of employment is implied or expressed. No guarantee or warranty of subsequent employment or other opportunities is implied or expressed.
