We’re offering a scholarship for one free Q Cupping Essentials course that Trish is teaching March 20-22, 2020 in San Leandro, California. Future course dates and application dates to be announced.

Detailed information (read before applying):
The Q Cupping Essentials course is the introductory course to the Q Grader Program. Students learn the basics of evaluation and quality control for specialty coffee, based on the SCA standards for Arabica coffee. Protocols for cupping, introduction to sensory science, descriptive cupping, and olfactory exploration is included among other key topics.
As we at Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters are committed to providing opportunities for people whenever possible, we will be offering a scholarship for one (1) specialty coffee professional to take each of the Q Cupping Essentials Course taught by Trish Rothgeb and Juliet Han at locations and times to be scheduled and published on http://www.wreckingballcoffee.com/pages/training-education. The scholarship will be awarded to one individual for each scheduled course as selected at the sole discretion of Trish Rothgeb, based on applications submitted by candidates during the application period as posted on Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters’ social media or on the wreckingballcoffee.com website. Applications are welcome from all, and the selection of the scholarship recipient will be notified directly by telephone or email. Applications will be accepted via email only at: qscholarship@wreckingballcoffee.com.
Fine print:
The scholarship is for the Q Cupping Essentials course fees (currently $900USD) and is for registration of the applicant only and includes the three days of training and testing, and lunch each day. The scholarship is absolutely not transferrable and has no monetary value. A scheduled course may be cancelled at any time by the instructor. The scholarship is for the specific course that occurs on the specific dates that correspond with the published application period and for no other course. A scholarship recipient may not transfer their scholarship to another course on another date. The scholarship does not include any travel, lodging, or any other costs whatsoever incurred by the scholarship recipient or any other related company or individual. The scholarship and course provides an opportunity to take the course and exams and no guarantee or warranty that the scholarship recipient will pass the exams is expressed or implied. The scholarship does not include any costs related to exam retakes, calibrations or recertifications after the dates of the specific relevant course. This scholarship program will end at any time at the sole discretion of Trish Rothgeb and Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters, LLC.
By applying for this scholarship, applicants, if selected to be scholarship recipients, agree to allow Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters, LLC and the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) to include the recipients’ name and likeness in marketing, social media, and advertising materials in photographs, videos, and written materials.
